Dubai is not only about skyscrapers, beaches and shopping malls. The city knows how to surprise culturally too. Over the years of living in the UAE, I have visited many museums, and today I want to share with you three that are really worth including in the itinerary – especially if you want to understand what lies behind the facade of this amazing city.
1. 🚀 Museum of the Future
📍 Sheikh Zayed Road
About the museum:
This is the most futuristic museum in the world — both outside and inside. The ring-shaped architecture with Arabic calligraphy is mesmerizing, and the exhibits take you to 2071: technology, artificial intelligence, space, climate, bioethics.
What awaits you:
- Interactive halls where you can “walk around the orbital station”
- A floor dedicated to the children of the future
- Unique digital installations
- A view of the city from futuristic observation decks
My impressions:
This is not just a museum, but a real experience of immersion in tomorrow. Both adults and teenagers will be delighted here. It is important to book tickets in advance!

2. 🕌 Dubai Museum (Al Fahidi Fort)
📍 Al Fahidi Historical District
About the museum:
Located in an ancient fortress of the 18th century, this is the oldest museum in the city. It reveals the real history of Dubai before the oil era: fishing villages, pearl mining, Bedouin life.
What awaits you:
- Underground exhibition with wax scenes from the life of the past
- Real boats, tools, weapons
- Atmosphere imbued with the spirit of the old Emirate
- Very affordable entrance fee
My impressions:
A place that I always recommend to those who want to understand the roots of this metropolis. There is no gloss and hi-tech here, but there is soul and history.

3. 🇦🇪 Etihad Museum
📍 Jumeirah Road, next to Union House
About the museum:
A modern building in the shape of a scroll, dedicated to the birth of the country. It tells the story of the unification of the seven emirates, displays rare archives, documents and videos.
What awaits you:
- Documentary chronicles and interviews with sheikhs
- Interactive panels and historical photographs
- The history of the signing of the unification agreement
- Respect and pride in how the country was born
My impressions:
A very modern and intellectually rich museum that explains why the UAE became what it is. Especially interesting for those who are interested in history and politics.
